The Chief Accountant is one of the most important roles within an organization’s management structure. Their responsibilities are clearly defined in regulations such as the Accounting Act, the Public Finance Act, and other applicable legal provisions.
The main responsibilities of a Chief Accountant include:
Supervision of the completeness and reliability of financial documentation – Overseeing the accuracy of documents related to business operations.
Maintaining the entity’s accounting records – managing full accounting documentation in accordance with applicable regulations.
Execution of financial transactions and cash flow management – ensuring financial liquidity and supervising financial operations.
Control of compliance between financial operations and the financial plan – preliminary verification that activities are consistent with the approved budget.

- Recording transactions based on properly issued accounting documents,
- Maintaining accounting books in a chronological and systematic manner — timely, reliable, and accurate,
- Periodic determination and verification of the actual status of assets and liabilities through inventory procedures,
- Valuation of assets and liabilities and determination of financial results,
- Collection, classification, and storage of accounting documents according to established standards.
